GATE 2025 Scorecard

Question Types
The GATE 2025 exam included three types of questions:
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs): Only one correct answer out of four choices.
- Multiple Select Questions (MSQs): One or more correct answers out of four choices.
- Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions: Answer is a real number to be entered using a virtual keypad.

GATE Score Validity and Usage
The GATE score is valid for three years from the date of the announcement of the results. This score can be used for admissions to postgraduate programs (Master's and Doctoral) with MoE and other Government scholarships/Assistantships. Some Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) also use GATE scores for recruitment.

Approximately 9 lakh students applied for GATE 2025. Branch-wise statistics for 2025 will be released after the admission session. The GATE Statistics (ST) 2025 exam was conducted on February 16, 2025.

About GATE 2025 Organizers
The GATE 2025 exam is organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee). It is a computer-based test (CBT) conducted jointly by IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
